Capofaro's wine list recognized as "The Most Original Wine List in the World 2022"
The World of Fine Wine, an often referenced publication among connoisseurs and enthusiasts of great wine, crowns the wine bar at Tenuta Capofaro in Salina (Tasca d’Almerita’s wine destination in the Aeolian Islands) as having “The Most Original Wine List in the World” of 2022.
“Successful wine lists,” says Neil Beckett, the journal’s longtime editor, “demonstrate not only strong industry expertise but also the experience and passion of their creators.
The prestigious award honors wine lists with unusual selections of wines or particular personalities. It is given following a rigorous selection process by an international jury composed of world champion sommeliers, master sommeliers, wine masters, and highly qualified wine writers.
“The importance of wine and geography is the message of this wine list. What makes wine magical, in our opinion, is its ability to describe where it comes from; the wines that we like and excite us are those that can express their sense of place.
The wine list developed by Giulio Bruni, sommelier of Tasca d’Almerita and head of Tenuta Capofaro, is a wine atlas that emphasizes geographical connotation, positioning wines between parallels and meridians. I am happy that once again Sicily is in the Olympus of world wines,” says Alberto Tasca.
