EDUSOSTAIN, SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIAL EQUITY
What does it mean to be a certified B Corp in the daily life of our company?
When talking about sustainability with a holistic approach it also means to take into consideration the surrounding context as well as the people that are part of our community.
For this reason we are very proud to be an active part of EduSOStain: a project born to offer the access to educational and professional training in the agricultural sector to vulnerable people.
The project, born as a partnership between the Foundations Sicily SOStain and Allianz UMANA MENTE, involves Club Itaca Palermo and Yolk Association.
We have developed a theoretical and practical training course for 12 adults and 10 kids aged between 11 and 16, aimed at acquiring knowledge and expertise mainly related to sustainable agriculture, marketing, sales and communication of agricultural products; our hope is to offer to the participants an opportunity of autonomy for their professional future.
It is a great source of joy and pride to be able to involve some of our collaborators and employees in this initiative, as they will share their knowledge with the beneficiaries of EduSOStain; we feel proud to have invested our resources and time in this project. An exciting and enriching experience for everyone, a step forward in “making the Sicily SOStain Foundation the engine of change, with positive repercussions not only on the environment, but also on the community and society” – says Alberto Tasca, President of the Foundation.
